The Divine Comedy by Dante

Dante’s book is known mainly for its endearing portrait of hell. Yeah, I’m kidding. Dante’s various levels of hell are anything but endearing. And the book covers hell, purgatory, and heaven. Despite being written in verse, a good translation of the work is very readable by teenagers and up. Your translation also needs good notes.

What is a Poor Potsherd?

A potsherd, of course, is a piece of broken pottery and is used as a simile in the Bible.
It is also found in this hopeful poem by G. M. Hopkins.
