My Blog Project

My main posts are on my topic of books, Christianity, and homeschooling. But here I am posting on how I am setting up my site so I can post on the main blog on books, Christianity etc. So this is about my blog project. I originally thought I would try to write a step-by-step description of setting up a website as a platform for promoting one’s knowledge or ideas. I have friends who are considering doing this, and I thought I would try to give them a procedure to follow. But I found I was backtracking and rethinking things so much that the step-by-step description just wasn’t working.

So I think I will just chronicle what I am working on and trying to accomplish as I go. If I find something is a mistake, I will try to come back and note that in any earlier posts where I was contemplating that particular error so you will be warned (if only I could have warned myself!).

Most “how-to” blogs seem to be written by people who have been doing this a while and have been successful. With me, you are going to get a work in progress that may or may not work out. I am just trying to follow the advice of all those successful bloggers out there. But I have encountered issues the successful people never mention—maybe because it is hard to keep track of all your starts and stops and backtracks years after they happen. So I am going to try to record these as they happen and maybe that will help you as you go. And maybe you can help me by warning me off decisions you have made that didn’t work out so well or answering a question I am at loose ends about. Maybe together we can both become one of those successful bloggers who make it look so easy.

What is a Poor Potsherd?

A potsherd, of course, is a piece of broken pottery and is used as a simile in the Bible.
It is also found in this hopeful poem by G. M. Hopkins.
