Step 6 of Building a Website: WordPress Username

When you set up your WordPress account, WordPress asks you for a username. Just FYI, you can’t change a username. You can, however, add yourself again later under another user name and delete the old one. Be aware that the username you input becomes the name that will appear on your posts. I did not realize this and signed up originally with a gmail address as my username, which is definitely not the username I wanted to be seen on my posts.  So I set up another user account with the ML as the username and made that account an administrator as well. Then I deleted the gmail username. When I did, WordPress allowed me to attribute content I had developed under that original username to my new ML username.
