2015—A Year of Major Anniversaries

Just in case you weren’t paying attention, 2105 is

  • 800th anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta (June 15, 1215)
  • 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo (June 18, 1815)
  • 150th anniversary of the signing of the surrender at Appomattox (April 9, 1865)
  • 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Lusitania (May 7, 1915)
  • 70th anniversary of the end of WWII (VE Day-May 9, 1945; VJ Day-August 15, 1945)
